My Double Orange Hibiscus Plant has been through a lot and has recovered a while back and look how faithfully it keeps flowering when I say it has been through a lot I mean the plant was infected with horrible green aphids and mealy bugs..How you ask ??Well when I got it from the nursery I did not inspect the plant properly and when I was planting it in the pot I happened to spot a mealy bug hiding under one of the stems i got rid of it immediately every thing was fine until 5 or 6 days later along with new leaves and buds came green aphids, I acted quick and without wasting any time sprayed it with diluted Listerine, then followed by a mix made with onions, ginger, garlic and chili. At first i thought this is it the Hibiscus plant will not be able to cope up with this spray but luckily nothing happened and it survived now it keeps flowering every other day with these gorgeous looking bold pumpkin orange Hibiscus flowers.I even happened to spot a lady bug busy doing its thing.Hibiscus plants love warm tropical climate and do well in partial to full sunlight.Fertilize once a month with organic fertilizers for more blooms.Water only when the soil feels dry.
