DIY How To Make a Paint Bucket Planter.

We recently happened to Paint our house and what were we left behind with? well apart from a spic and span looking clean house there were loads of plastic paint buckets what to do with them throw them away or put them in the thrash no not really i thought they would make for cool planters of course with a little effort put in by me, and voila the cutest little planter. Here s how to go about in case if you have an old paint bucket lying around and you want to make one for yourself .

To begin with you need an empty paint bucket, make sure you wash it clean and remove any left over paint or residues.Dry the bucket.

Now we dont want water logging in the planter so with the help of a drill make holes in the base of the bucket,i made holes in my bucket by heating a nail and puncturing holes in the plastic.

Next I used white oil paint and painted two coats of it all over the bucket with the help of a big paint brush. And let it dry overnight or for couple of hours till the paint is completely dry and you can handle the bucket.
Then with the help of Acrylic colors i painted strawberries on one bucket and lemons on the other you can be creative and use your imagination and paint whatever you like on it.Once the paint dries off your planter is all ready for you to use.

I have planted a pink sweet William in the strawberry bucket and sweet marjoram in the lemon one.
So happy gardening and recycling everyone!!
